A scar revision is surgery to improve the appearance of scars.
Prominent scars can cause embarrassment and can lower self esteem. Though no scar can be completely removed, a scar revision will make it discreet, so that the chance of someone noticing it is greatly reduced.
Moles, cysts and other skin lesions are very common. What might seem like an insignificant lesion can cause discomfort, embarrassment and self consciousness. In addition, many patients are concerned about changes in the appearance of the lesions or an increase in size or symptoms.
Whilst the majority of lesions are completely harmless, removal of the lesion will allow an accurate histological diagnosis to ensure there is no cancer present.
Overall my surgical experience was amazing, I was very nervous in the lead up to it but I was made comfortable and at ease. All of the staff made me feel relaxed and comfortable, especially Anne.
Anne was professional with a very caring manor.

Patients may wonder why it is important to stop smoking before, during and after surgery? This is simply because of nicotine and not the cigarette itself (please see article https://bit.ly/2C5gTE3). Patients who use it and have elected for surgery must be aware of the main associated risks and complications: · The impact of nicotine on […]
The NHS recognises lipoedema as being “a chronic (long-term) condition where there’s an abnormal build-up of fat cells in the legs, thighs and buttocks, and sometimes in the arms”. (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/lipoedema/ accessed 23/11/17) The NHS direct website has a section on lipoedema that describes tumescent liposuction as being the only effective treatment. There is also a […]
@TobyRichardsUCL @LondPlasticsurg @BBC In short, yes. Removal of fat by #Liposuction improves mobility, reduces pain and begins to restore damaged self-esteem. Am currently conducting QOL assessment with my #Lipedema patients to verify this. Sadly, #Lipoedema is very expensive to treat and not available on @NHSuk.
@MrMarkHenley Notwithstanding clear @gmcuk guidance on use of #SoMe, we must do all we can to prevent #PlasticSurgery from debasement.
bit.ly/2WWpXmT - my latest 360 appraisal by @EdgecumbeHealth. Summary, "Anne is a well liked colleague and staff enjoy working for her. The theatre team is generally a very happy theatre due to Anne’s relaxed nature." Note to self, be more assertive! #PlasticSurgery pic.twitter.com/yZ7H…
My fees now submitted and mirror those on my website. Need to add some #PlasticSurgery procedures currently not on the list. Also, some descriptors need standardisation/refinement. A great patient tool for decision making. @MattJamesPHIN @SpireParkway @SpireLAston twitter.com/PHIN_UK/…
